Slots that are excluded from bonus wagering

You would think that as a slot player you have the luxury of being able to do whatever you want in terms of bonuses. If you look at Roulette or Blackjack then you have bad luck: These games contribute practically nothing to the turnover requirements. This means that you have to rely on other games to clear the bonus. And these other games are mostly slot machines.

So far, so good. But the problem is that there are also slot machines that are excluded from these rules. And these are not as few as you might think. At least it’s not like having the free choice. And from the casinos perspective it makes sense. Because there are slot machines with very high RTP. Not only a theoretically high RTP but a permanently high RTP. That is a large difference, because theoretically high RTPs exists e.g. in various Jackpot slots such as Jackpot Jester with 99% and more. But the problem is: You don’t have this high RTP with every spin. So it’s not worth as much as you might think. These slot machines are therefore not necessarily excluded.

These are rather slot machines like 1429 Uncharted Seas from Thunderkick which have a real and valid high RTP at every spin. The RTP is so high that the casino would make losses on average. A casino that does not exclude these slot machines is then a “low hanging fruit” for a dedicated gambler. Or the casino does not offer these slot machines at all – that is also pretty likely.

Before we beat around the bush for too long, here are the slot machines of well-known casinos that are excluded from the bonus. You can play at these slot machines, but they don’t contribute to the bonus wagering requirements. Conversely, just because a casino has not excluded this slot machine does not mean that you can play it there. So you have to check both: does the casino offer this slot machine + isn’t the slot machine excluded?

Thoughts

What’s really interesting is the fact that there are some things in common (like 1429 Uncharted Seas at Dunder, Casumo and Betsson), but machines like Dead or Alive 2, Eggomatic, etc. are excluded at some casinos (Slotsmillion) and not at others (Casumo, Dunder).

It would be interesting to find out according to which criteria casinos exclude individual slot machines and whether there is actually a system behind it. Because, purely theoretically, you would simply have to go here and exclude the slot machines with the highest RTPs. This would mean that the casinos would basically follow the same scheme. But they don’t. And nobody really knows why…
